Windows XP installs to D drive -

Hello,
I have succesfully installed Windows XP from a USB drive on my Dell Mini 10, however it always installs itself on D drive and any other drive I plug in (be the SD card, os a USB stick) ends as C. I have replaced the HDD with a 128GB Kingston SSD... I don't know if this could have been the culprit... Now, I see that the system seems to work well with the main sustem drive being named D, but I would prefer to have it as it should... I suspect it is because it detects the card reader? Is there a way to physically disconnect the reader? Or I am missing something and this is because or some other thing? Any pointers would be very useful. Thanks in advance! |

that is not possible the card-reader is attached to the motherboard.
it is not a separate module as seen on different mini laptops supertalent dual wide ssd 128GB 2GB ddr2 400mhz ram Realtek RTL8188SU (not the 3G version) hdd cooler as extra cooling |

You can't fix this without reinstalling Windows.

Just to close this thread... I reinstalled Windows XP from an external CD drive instead of USB stick... and no problem with C / D drives, it installed as always, on D drive.
Could be that the laptop mixed the card reader / USB / HDD? Maybe... |
