Default Memory amount used in Xp install? - 10-08-2008, 05:46 AM

I just installed XP pro from my USB drive. I checked my C Drive memory and it said that I was using about 5.3Gbs of the 8GB SSD drive I have. When I went and selected all the folder in my C drive, the total memory used is a little over 3Gbs. Can someone explain to me where all that extra memory went. It's a small drive to begin with, I want to salvage what little memory i have left.

Turning off hibernation doesn't seem to affect it (I just changed the power settings to "never"). Any other ideas? I checked for hidden files, and there were none that could justify taking up so much of the harddrive.

That's not how you turn off hibernation, Google it.
