Here is the one one my netbook: Dell Mini 1012, with high resolution screen, running Linux Mint 10.10 and docky. The top panel has also been made translucent

I have the most boring taste in desktops and themes. Your post reminded me to turn off whatever default wallpaper I have and just go to a solid color

Ouch.

I like clean, low key but good looking desktops. I can't stand having files all over the place, or decor that makes it difficult to see what is on the desktop. This is in part why I don't tend to run desktop widgets and instead prefer discrete applets that I activate at will.
