Default Just pulled out my old Mini Mac...need some direction - 03-05-2011, 11:32 PM

So I found my old 10v that currently has 10.6.2 installed on it.

I'd like to upgrade, but the bigger issue is that I could never get sound on this thing.

So I guess I'm looking for a little help. How should I upgrade to the current OS, and will that bring my sound back?

THX!

Matt

1) Install and run this version of NBI : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/863180/Netbo...212351.app.zip
2) Install the 10.6.6 update (download this from apple.com)
3) Once it reboots, you should see the NBI logo at boot. Be patient until it reboots (takes a while).

This may fix your sound issue.

Thanks Steve. Trying it now. I can just download the OS update from Software Update, right?

so long as you follow step one you can use SU to get the combo for you yes. sound works perfectly well for me (had a 30/70% grey out sound problem with .5 but fixed now ) .

Well I have no idea what I did, but it didn't work. Installed and ran the file that was linked to above. Installed 10.6.6 afterwards, then when it rebooted, it has gotten stuck on the "starry space" background screen of OSX...won't go past it

Ok, if you still have your NBM or NCD u used to originally put osx on your 10v, use it to boot.
I had the same problem when I updated, the fix for me was to run the same version of NBI, run the SU, then re-run NBI before you restart. It's that last part that is important. This worked for me, hope it helps.
