Default MicroSDHC? - 01-28-2009, 09:24 PM

Will a MicroSDHC work on the Mini and if so... would it be better to use the Micro over the standard? Reasons?

TIA

if you want to put it into the card reader on the side of the mini, you'll need to have the SD adapter that the MicroSD(hc) card slides into. then slide that into the card reader and you'll be good to go. that's what i'm doing unti my 16g SD card gets here.

There's no slot for a MicroSD card on the Mini, so as FitchVA says, you'll need to use an SD adapter. Should work.

Cute davico_rosello! Rub it in! Some of us didn't win one!

Fun aside, if both cards are the same class, I would think all would be equal. I'm not an expert, others are better in this area. My 2 cents.

The only drawback I've noticed is they can get hot when transferring a lot of data.

But they work just fine. I used one to install Ubuntu 8.10 at one point for testing.

Funny you say that about the heat! That crossed my mine when I made my post, however I haven't tested it, thus omitted stating such.

I went with a Kingston

http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technolo ... 843&sr=8-8

I ordered it from Amazon with a dvd set to get the free shipping so I should have it in about 10 weeks... (Why does Amazon hate me so)

I'm planning on installing Ubuntu on it so I can dual boot without a lot of extra gyrations.
