Default No Hard Drive Recognized on Install - 02-06-2012, 05:54 AM

I have a Mini 10v and I am attempting to install Snow Leopard to it.

I am using an USB memorystick (naturally) and I am able to boot to the install screen. However, I can't install to my mini10v because the installer only sees the USB stick and does not see the hard drive.

What can I do to get the install to recognize the hard drive?

Thanks!

use the disk utility on the menu bar of the installer to partition and format your drive then the installer should see it.

The install box does not show a hard drive nor does the disk utility when selected from the bar above.

The disk utility program recognizes only USB drive. No hard drives appear for formatting.

Yes - without the USB drive in the port it will boot into windows.

When I boot with the USB drive I will get to the OSX install screen but the disk utility, when chosen from the bar, shows only the USB drive.

Which bios version do you have and which version of netbook bootmaker are you using?
Do you have a proper hard drive or an sd type drive?
I am using bios A06 and Netbook bootmaker 0.8.4 RC1 and have a proper hard drive.

OS X doesn't see an NTFS partition natively.

Partition as Fat32 and you should be good to go.

I am using bios A05 and Netbookbootmaker 0.8.4 RC1 on a 10v mini. The hard drive is the 160GB drive that came with the dell notebook.

The drive is formatted Fat32. Still nothing is recognized.

I should note that when I boot using the USB drive I am given a choice of what to boot from - the OSX DVD (USB thumbdrive) or my hard drive.

Try updating your bios to A06.
