This is not the battery. The white light will light and then the yellow will when I push the power button, but nothing happens when I plug the cord in. There is some give when i jiggle it around. Is there any home remedy? Failing that can i just pop my ssd out and plug it into another computer to gain access to my stuff?

The SSD is not compatible with anything else. MyDigitalDiscount sells a special USB enclosure for these cards - $30.

I had the same problem. I replaced the power jack, but that didn't fix the problem. My DM9 is dead now. Its been like that for 6 months or so. I check in here from time to time to see if there is a fix yet. I eventually bought a new Acer Aspire one for $180 on Black Friday. That is probably the cheapest and less frustrating fix.

my acer would have the same problem i say its the power source. either the cord or the motherboard.

with my acer the quick and easy fix solution was to have the cord at a special angle being held up by something like a small peice of wood to one of the pink erasers.

some times that wouldnt work so i took a screw driver and carefully bend that nub thats in the hole(dirty jokes) and my power cord would work with or with out the special technique i stated above.

the slow and painfull technique is to soldier a new one from a used or broken laptop which i got from ebay.(it had a 8gb ram and mines only came with 2...score!)
