Default Can I still hackintosh a mini 9? - 10-09-2018, 05:16 AM

I have a mini 9 that had windows xp but I put Ubuntu on it, figuring I might learn it one day.

In the past, I’ve hackintoshed several mini 10v units but they have mostly moved in to other people.

I still have the 9 and am wondering if it is possible to put os 10.6.3 that I used for the 10v Hackintosh. I still have the flash drive and the instructions that I used for the 10v but no longer have the retail disc.

If anyone has any insight and is willing to share, thank you.

im not sure if its still possible, since most of the guides have died, and are not being able to be retrieved from the logs, {just like the old links, they have either been removed or are not accessible anymore}.

but if still have the files you could try to install it like any mac, {if you want dual boot i would suggest to start with the other OS first}

but i would not suggest it since it might run very very slow.

i also still use my dell mini from time to time, but not soo much anymore.
im planning on stripping it down, {removing the screen so its energy consumption is lower} and then try turning it in a smart home control base.
using raspberry pi zero and esp8266 devices

dell mini 910
supertalent dual wide ssd 128GB
2GB ddr2 400mhz ram
Realtek RTL8188SU
(not the 3G version)
hdd cooler as extra cooling

Thank you. I’ve been looking at Linux distros to maybe try on the mini 9. I would prefer Mac as I know Mac and don’t know Linux.

I can't recommend running MacOS on the Mini 9 nowadays as you are stuck on a very old and unsupported 32-bit version. A lot of software won't run there. Current Linux or Windows works.

Thanks Steve, the more I research, the more I think I’m gonna go for lubuntu or puppy Linux.
