I just preped SL usb-stick with NetBookMaker, installed SL.
Worked just fine after that. However I ran NetBookInstaller when meklort patched it with restart and sleep fix. Also I did have to downgrade BIOS on my 10v to boot from SL usb.

10v - Upgraded to 2 GB RAM - Upgraded with Bluetooth - 160 GB HD - Downgraded A04 BIOS - SL 10.6 and Win 7 RTM

For those two of you stuck at the blue screen after switching from DellEFI to NBI, did you ever get that resolved? And if so, how?

Nope, I went back to DellEFI and everything was ok. I decided to skip 10.5.8, so I'm still at 10.5.7 and waiting for the audio fixes on SL, then I'll make the jump directly to SL.

I did the exact same thing after my 10.5.8 blue screen.

Did the following:

1. Boot into safe mode
2. Run NetbookInstaller .8.2RC4
3. Reboot normally

Indeed, it works out for me. The trackpad fix is a slightly later release than the one I had installed. It's more sensitive, but I can get used to it.

Just for those reading this thread looking to transition, you should know, that in my case it royally screwed things up. I'm reinstalling from scratch today. Just a caution. I will attempt this again though and chances are it will work.

So can I assume that DellEFI is fully compliant with 10.5.8? I can install the upgrade, reboot into safe mode, run DellEFI and be good to go? 10.5.7 runs perfect now and I keep reading about problems with 10.5.8.

I used dellefi with 10.5.8 and the only issue I had was with the battery icon.

I am not sure why or how the transition "royally screwed you up" but the process should be sound and work fine.

Sorry to hear that. I know that this transition procedure works and has worked for countless people.
