I placed an order for a new Dell desktop and Mini 9 on March 7. I received the desktop on time with no issues. However, to date I have received four notifications of delay for the Mini. They now tell me it will be delivered May 4. Almost two months after placing the order. In the meantime I've ordered and received 2GB RAM card, 64GB RunCore SSD, Bluetooth Module, carrying case, external GPS puck, truck mounting system and sundry software.

I've lost count of all the Dell computers I've purchased over the years with zero problems, and now this.

I would sure like to cancel the Mini order but with everything else ready to go..........

Frustrated and dissapointed.

cancel it and buy from the outlet! new configs are posted at least daily and turnaround time is usually about a week.

to bad you didn't get the mini with the AT&T card built in, because that card has GPS built in and you wouldn't need an external bluetooth GPS PUK

What configuration did you order? 2 months waiting after the initial intro may be some kind of record... It seems like they tell most people a month and deliver it in a little less than 3 weeks.

I have a Dell Case manager and someone in executive support trying to push it through, but it's still taking a long time.

I think this is the problem. Dell stopped offering that drive because of supply issues.

You might want to talk to your case manager and ask to reconfig with a different drive.

Why did you decided to buy the 64GB OEM drive if you were going to install the Runcore anyway? Seems like a waste of money to me unless I'm missing something.

And why did you order a Bluetooth module if this already has it built-in?

I wasn't ordering a 64GB RunCore seperate - not sure where I might have said that on here. I wanted the 64GB drive stock from the factory, as well as BlueTooth, 1.3MP camera, etc. Everything "loaded" except the RAM (I can get 2GB for $20.)

Also not sure what you mentioned about ordering BlueTooth extra - I ordered it as part of the unit I configured (The whole unit wound up being $390 with my employer discount.)

I *do* have an existing Mini (again, loaded, but with 16GB SSD), and I just ordered a 4GB SSD/512MB/1.3MP Camera "pink" one from the Outlet for my daughters. (I'm going to put a BT module in it, 2GB of RAM, and I got an 8GB SSD from someone on here.) The pink one is the one that I wanted Bluetooth for, as well as a bigger SSD, since it was a great deal in the Outlet ($190 or so + tax).

their major problem right now is with the chassis ... (apparently mostly the black one) ... they can not keep a good supply of them in to meet the orders in a timely manner .... ended up getting mine NIB off of ebay ... (2 of em for the price of 1 i had on order, only difference was the SSD size 8 gig instead of 32, but i can upgrade that later on if i still need that size)
