Hi , after a first fresh windows xp reinstall my card reader appears in device manager as unknown device. my system detects it but after the jmicron driver install nothing happened. if i uninstall the driver the usb remove device icon appears on my status bar and if i click on it i see sd card reader icon.

anyone have this problem . please help me with this one

any suggestions ? the card reader was working before this reinstall.

Have you considered using a new OS?

My suggestion was also to get you to a newer OS which is supported. I like several versions of Linux; Ubuntu, Mint & am currently using Lite Linux on a Mini 10v. They are all easy to tryout before installing. Almost all OS's have outgrowen my 4 GB SSD on my Mini 9.

If you really need Windows then I like Win 7.

the problem is solved now. i do not know how but when i was going to install a fresh copy of windows i got a message for usb mass storage and the sd icon is now present. i did a few restarts and used different memory cards it is all ok.

my dell is working great , the sd problem was the only issue. i use it only for diagnose ,only vcds and revo software installed.
