i installed an intel x-25M SSD of 120 Gb.
It speeded up alright, but the battery life is still a problem,
compared to my galaxytab that runs for 3 days with norma use.

I also tested Android 2.2 on the duo. runs extremely fast aswell.

I'm getting a better quote on the Duo right now with audio dock from Dell. Fingers crossed. Funny, I want to put Win 8 on my Galaxy Tab 7 lol, I also have a Xoom. :-)

lol, i am quite happy with gingerbread on my GT-7
no need for win 8 , it's a perfect device for consuming content.

For now i will wait till the end of the year to change my dell streak 5
for the new Galaxy note ......

Final price shipped with the Dock is $538. What Tab carrier do you have I have Tmob and they have not issued the first update yet, not even a patch.

I live in France in Paris.
My carrier is Orange and they have issued 1 update, but it was
just a new version of Froyo.

I installed the xda-leaked gingerbread Samsung stock rom.
Although i must say the differences are minor.

The main complaint I have is the notification pull down in landscape is almost unusable with 2.2. Not sure if all the bugs are worked out for the Tmob version with the XDA leak. Iwas keeping up with it for awhile. I use mine daily with the car dock.

I forgot to ask, how is the audio dock with win 8? I have Amazon cloud drive for music so that should work great if there are no driver issues. How is the win 8 Alarm clock application? Looks like it could work pretty well with the Audio Dock as well.

Sorry I can't be of help on that one. I bought my duo without the audio dock.
I really didn't want to wear-out a $500 unit (ab)using it as an alarmclock, and i prefer to link
it to my home cinema over Bluetooth for the audio.

Now if at least the dock would have proposed HDMI - out, but it doesn't

I wouldn't have bought it either for $100.00 but it's okay for $49. I like the Card Reader it has and the extra USB ports but I have a USB to HDMI adapter that should work okay. I'll report back when it gets here next week. Let me know if they find a fix for the auto rotation and the accelerometer drivers in Win 8.

I installed all the drivers for it, and the sensor is working.
However it needs a control panel applet to activate it, and that
one doesn't get installed. I am sure I will get it to work soon.
