Default Lubuntu Mini 10V Wireless - 09-14-2010, 03:44 AM

I have Lubuntu running nicely on my Dell Mini 10v (made the switch from Xubuntu and Hackintosh for the heck of it). The problem is the Broadcom Driver cannot be found. I know Broadcom is famous for not supporting Linux properly, but just seeing if anyone else has found a fix to get the Driver installed for 802.11n Card on a Dell mini 10V running Lubuntu?

Broadcom has made all their drivers available and 10.04 recognizes them automatically. The drivers are definitely in the repos. you should be able to pull them up with no problem.

Well the only one that seems to be available to me is B43, I require the STA version. I checked in Synpatics Package Manager and they have some in there, tried installing them and no luck.

Connect a network wire, and install the "bcmwl-kernel-source" software package. That usually works for me on Ubuntu machines with Broadcom WiFi.

Also, Broadcom has just this week released an open source driver for some of their hardware. It's not ready for use by normal folk, but it makes the future of Broadcom WiFi on Linux seem brighter.
