Default Poll: Best web browser for Snow Leopard 10v - 02-12-2011, 07:34 PM

Just wondering what people are finding to be the best and/or fastest browser to use with their Hackintosh'd 10v. I'd been using the Google Chrome 9 Beta on my MacBook Pro and loving it, but I found it to be a little slow on the Dell while loading and/or browsing through pages, especially when two-finger scrolling or using the 'Pg Dn' / 'Pg Up' Fn keys. This morning I installed the Firefox 4 Beta and so far I do think it's a little faster.

What are other people's experiences or preferences?

--Google Chrome 9 Beta
--Firefox 4 Beta
--Safari 5
--Something else?

I'm using Safari on my D9 OSX.

I tried Chromium (very memory hungry..), Opera (adblocking is awful..) and firefox.

Safari with adblock is the best.

Safari 5.0.3 with AdBlocker downloaded from Apple web site. Another version of AdBlocker (from cnet but I am not sure) did not work at all.

Running Firefox and it's great...got adblock, forecaster, themes, plus I use xmarks to sync all of my bookmarks to my other computers.

***Just updated to the firefox 4 beta and all I can say is that it's fast, and very good looking once you find a good looking persona...Hands down better than Safari!!! ALL my friends with Macbooks that I've told have switched from safari and not looked back. My 2cents

google chrome with add and flash block. it's not perfect but suites me.

turboweb is only available to download via the mac app store so I wont use it on principle.

a) the mac app store hacks your computer to sniff out what applications you are running
b) the mac app store for me seems to want card payment details before i can get free apps
d) one stop shops are suspicious at the best of times.

I run OSX sure but i don't ever remember checking the apple adopt me box.

Not to mention, Turboweb has zero Java support and no Favorites button.

Firefox with AdBlockPlus, it just works.

ff with chromifox, tabs on top, caption plus, AdBlockPlus and dark theme. Great on 11z 10.6.6. Like the size and weight. Hope QE/CI will get fix.

No one mention opera, the original open source browser. The best!

5 Star CNET review, but a 3 star user review.

Opera for Mac - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
