![]() Well I went ahead to find the answer to my own question. I wanted to know how much it would cost to buy the parts for the optional webcam. You will need to buy the camera service kit and also an LCD bezel with a hole for the webcam.
048J LCD bezel service kit, with camera hole, silver, 910(Include LCD bezel with camera hole, LCD left/right rubber) $10.99 X050J Camera assembly service kit, 0.3M, 910 (Include 0.3M camera, LVDS camera cable, LCD left/right rubber) $24.99 X051J Camera assembly service kit, 1.3M, 910 (Include 1.3M camera, LVDS camera cable, LCD left/right rubber) $34.99 So it's either $35 for the .3mp and $45 for the 1.3mp. Not that bad...about the cost of buying a stand alone webcam. As for installation? Seems to be pretty straight forward here's the instructions direct from the service manual. http://support.dell.com/support/edoc....htm#wp1084976 |

![]() can we order parts from the US Dell if we don't live in the US?
Ie, could we order the mobo with the wwan option, or even the different colour lcd panels? Or is it if they are not available in your country that you can't order them? Cos I've tried looking on the UK site, and can't seem to find any information about internal part numbers or any kind of upgrade for the Mini 9 - and the Mini 9 seems to not even exist in the "Parts & Upgrades for Your Dell" section in the UK - or am I looking in completely the wrong place??. |

Averages out to about $50 USD +/-, even for a $2 part. If you know someone here in the US who'll take delivery & send it to you using the regular Postal system you're $50 (or more) ahead. |

![]() Does anybody have a mini xp recovery cd they would be willing to sell? I only have mce and professional editions recovery discs (sp2) and purchased the ubuntu version but I am not exactly loving it. I have two xp home keys and really only want the recovery cd/dvd so i can do a clean factory install. I am only interested in the original recovery disc if anyone has it. My next step will be to try to buy it off the parts list, but I will probably have to purchase a COA, correct me if I'm wrong please. Thanks.

![]() You can use your existing Windows CD/keys to make a new one, slipstreaming the drivers off the Dell Mini 9 site onto it and make your own Dell recovery CD...

![]() That's actually what I'm doing with Windows xp pro sp2, but I had read somewhere that it was a modified version of XP home for UMPC's. I can also install from an original cd and update but I still want to get a copy of the recovery cd. I'll probably just call and try to buy one sometime tomorrow and let you guys know if they sell the media, or media and coa. Thanks.
