Exclamation Enclosure or adapter for the SSD - 09-10-2020, 03:53 PM

Any ideas on where I can purchase an enclosure or an adapter to connect my STEC SSD via USB to a laptop? I want to retrieve the data from the hard drive. Are there any hard drive docking stations that will work on any other suggestions for data retrieval or using the SSD a an external drive. I have a Mini 9 with CMOS issues and the PXE-E61 error
Thanks

There was one that was sold in the past, by RunC. I thought I had discarded it long ago, but I just found it - want to buy it? $30 plus shipping. It has been off the market for years - can't even find one on eBay.

I don't hold out much hope at your recovering data, though.

Maybe there are some on Aliexpress.

The SSD uses mini PCI-E PATA interface.

So you need a mini PCI-E to IDE adapter.
Then a IDE to USB adapter.

Not sure if it is the Correct one but you need a adapter like:
aliexpress.com/item/32976786655.html?

The link you provided is for converting a SATA MiniPCIE SSD to a mini-PATA interface. That won't help here.

The problem is that Dell custom-wired the connector. It is a MiniPCIe in form factor, but MiniPCIe normally has SATA, not PATA. Dell used the connector for PATA and then designed a custom SSD for it. Nothing else other than the Mini 9/Vostro 910 ever used this combination, so the market was exceedingly small. As far as I know, the RunC enclosure I have was the only design ever sold.
