Is this a problem with colour profiles/gamma or something? Makes a lot of websites and stuff a pain to look at in the dark.

Does the M101Z do this like the HP DM1Z:

I am not talking about brightness, the brightness is the same, but I am talking about imagery.
Its not that the one is more sharp than the other, but there is a difference.
I just cannot put my hand on it how to describe it. I think its saturation or something like that.
When I look at the information tab while playing the disc, nothing changes either when I plug and unplug the power, but there is a difference in image.
Anybody with a USB player notices this too?
This actually has to do with the way the AMD Catalyst drivers do their video enhancements and the fact that it disables a bunch of them when on battery power.
When on battery power the following are disabled and greyed out so you can't enable them when on battery power:
Color Vibrance
Flesh Tone Correction
Video Gama
Brighter Whites
Dynamic Range
Edge-enhancement
De-noise
Mosquito Noise Reduction
Deblocking
Dynamic Contrast
In other words it disables everything but any video color adjustments you may have made, Automatic Deinterlacing, and Enforce Smooth Video Playback. I know they did this so less of the GPU is in use and therefore you will get better battery life but the problem is that there seems to be no way to enable them on battery power even if you set it to Maximize Performance in PowerPlay or even turn off PowerPlay.
So in short this is a driver issue and it might be hard to tell if AMD intends to keep it this way or if its more like a bug in the current drivers.
