I am trying to find a 6 cell battery (larger if possible but from what I can find they don't make one) for a mini 1018. I normally have had good luck with third party sellers and such but all I can find are white ones that are for a 1012. From what I can tell they should work but I wanted to see if anyone knows.

Essentially I am wondering if anyone knows where to find a black 6 cell + that works in a 1018?

I'm also looking for a 6-cell battery for my 1018 and i coulnd't find anything on dell's site.

However, i just found this here. Claims to be a 56 Wh li-ion 6-cell battery pack with 11.1V, which should be 3S3P.

I'm also joining the crowd looking for a 6-cell for the 1018. Dell told me there is nothing available through them yet, so the hunt is on. I thought I found a 6-cell through AGPTEK, LE14, but it won't fit the mini.

I believe the link I posted as well as the one after mine should both work. I just wonder if anyone has tried them yet. My understanding is any battery for the 1012 should work in a 1018. Dell has a 6 cell battery on their site, and I used that reference to find the one I linked. I will probably buy it soon and post back once I get it. Mainly I wanted a black battery because my mini is all black. So the white ones are out of the picture for me.

the reason they are white is because the 1012 bottom is white and the battery is for the 1012 NOT the 1018...although it may work it is made to color match the unit it is meant for which is the 1012....if and when they come out with a 1018 battery I am sure it will be in black as where all the 1018 bottoms are black....either deal with the white color or wait for the black are your only 2 choices..sorry.....I would NEVER buy a 3rd party battery, everything I ever needed for my Mini I got through Dell....and basically the only thing I have bought was the 750gb WD drive and I even bought that through Dell.....my 1010 came with everything loaded already....no options available that I dont have except maybe GPS which I think is stupid and a waste of money anyway......Good Luck in your search though

I appreciate the input, but one thing I can't agree with is the third party batteries. I understand the 1012 is white, which is why you can almost only find white batteries. However, third party batteries are just as good as OEM if you ask me. Dell doesn't make their own batteries, they pay a third party to make them and slap a dell sticker on them. Of course they probably have a little better quality control, but not that much difference. I have used various third party/hong kong batteries for a couple different laptops and they have always been great. Most of them come with a 1 year warranty or more. My wife's netbook recently had her asus battery go bad while her third party is still alive and kicking (both bought at the same time).

It also sounds like you have money to throw away. I can't speak for everyone but I personally will never pay for a battery direct from dell that costs almost as much as the entire netbook did. 6 cell for 1012 is $150 while the laptop is 250+. I would never pay full price for anything really through dell, so unless they had some 50% or more sale I will continue to buy third party. OEM have just about the same chance of blowing up or failing as third party does... so it just makes sense to buy the cheapest (assuming it is from a reliable third party website/company).

well 1st, lets see how Dell would interpret your warranty if anything "blows up" with a 3rd party battery installed....2nd, I paid about $500 for my Mini and while I dont have money to burn I dont mind paying for quality and a MANUFACTURERS WARRENTY...I have always been one to order Sirloin over Salisbury anyway...you get what ya pay for sooner or later it'll come back and bite ya...many have 3rd party chargers out here too..they work for a while and all of a sudden their mini stops working...gee I wonder why????...its only money.. dude...it only money
