First of all, I know this is a rehash, but I have found no threads that apparently work. all look very old also.
My Mini 9 is very old. Runs fine.
BIOS A03
Ubuntu 8.04.3

Replaced the battery (aftermarket), I get the "battery not recognized" flag at boot, and now alternating blinking power and battery lights.
I've tried most of the simple fixes to no avail. (swapping batteries after up, slipping in and out, turning Airplane mode on and off, etc). BIOS retrograde appears, according to this forum, not to work either.

Simply, is there a tried and true fix?

I think that I would return the battery. Does the old battery still work, maybe it only lasts for 15 minutes? If so, you got a new battery that is bad.

The old battery is 100% toast. If unplugged or jar the AC connection, get a hard shutdown.
All I wanted it for was power backup so I don't do hard shutdowns.
I bought the thing in 2008 for a couple of hundred bucks, not going to spend $70 bucks on a battery. i'll just superglue the AC in place.
I use it of representation occasionally.
