You can still upgrade the memory. It helps XP even more than Win 7. I'd get Win 7 also if possible. You'll like it and it makes the Netbook more usable.

I've had several of both. I find they are pretty comparable but the 1012 is a little faster (especially if your 10v had the 270 processor, if you had the 280, not so much) and much easier to work on....
