Re: Outlet Coupon Code 15% Off

Dell is good with crap like that - they do it all the time. Last week all basic systems were going for $219. Today I check just to see and they are all $239 for identical machines. Screw that - screw...

Re: HP mini vs. Dell mini

Which is just another marketing ploy being used daily by disreputable retailers to get business by having "Going out of business" sales, that aren't sales at all because they just increase their...

Re: HP mini vs. Dell mini

It looks to me like the current increase in prices Dell is pulling at the outlet is a direct result of this OSX business. Please don't try to tell me Dell hasn't increased (TWICE) the basic price of...

Re: Windows 7 for Netbooks runs 3 apps!

If MS uses the Vista pricing model - you can be sure they will shoot themselves in the foot once again. People are not going to pay $300-400 bucks for an OS when Linux is available mostly for free.

Seed? I have no idea what you're talking about or what to do with a "torrent". If I can't get it...

Re: Removing the Intel Sticker from a Mini 9

Wow ... have I finally found another use for all those "AMD Inside" stickers I've had in my goody box? Think of it - a Mini running OSX and an AMD sticker. Boy, would THAT raise some eyebrows! LOL!

Re: How do you delete a thread?

No - it's not an administrative privilege. In the setup of the phpBB software, there are a number of options the admin has to set permissions for users. I used to run a phpBB forum, so I am aware of...

Re: Windows XP to Windows 7 USB style tutorial.

So .. pirate it :o its quite easy.[/quote]

That would require knowing a source, would it not. And I don't do torrents, if that's what you're suggesting.

Is Win7 available anyplace these days, or did you have to be a beta tester to get it?

Re: mini 9 form fitting sleeve/case that remains on during use

If by "a properly constructed skin" you mean one that leaves the vents clear ... probably so, but I would still advise against it. Besides heat loss through the vent, the body itself also bleeds off...

Re: Q: config the BIOS on XP start up

Or you can enter the bios at startup and reset it to either last good setup, or default and see if that clears the error.

Re: How do you delete a thread?

phpBB software allows it IF the Admin has it setup to let a poster delete his own thread. If you see a little STAR at the top right of your post, you can click on that to delete it.

Re: Downloading freezes for 2 minutes at first and corrupts

First thing - get rid of Zone Alarm. The current versions are crap, and causes more problems than it is intended to prevent. If you use Windows, the builtin firewall is more than sufficient. If you...

Re: Just arrived - am I being too picky?

Sorry, but that is simply NOT acceptable quality control. If it was mine it would be RMA's immediately. I have just about come to the conclusion that I won't be buying the mini, when for the same...

Re: Stripping Out XP Pro Features?

Re: Stripping Out XP Pro Features?

Not for nothing, but why would you load XP Pro on your machine and then want to trim it down to what is essentially an XP Home system? But doing a slipstreamed OS is so simple and easy to do, I can't...

I'm beginning to understand why there are so many refurbs available - or at least there were up to today.

I would return it. Why settle after waiting so long for something you wanted? Taking crap...
