Can this be formatted to original settings with windows XP?

Certainly. It is best done with the Dell restore CD, but you can probably do it with a regular XP SP3 CD. Just be sure to choose a "Custom" install and delete all existing partitions.

Yes, Holmes nailed that one. But the Mini originally came with Ubuntu so you'd have to get your own XP CD and key code.
