I love my Mini 9, if it was reissued with an Nvidia video card I'd buy one. If Dell builds an ION, 2GHz, 2GB, SSD combo in a 10.1, I'm there. For now the big ole E1705 is idle. I haven't been on it in some time. Some gaming would just be too cool on a mini though....

12" notebooks have been selling as a premium product for the past many years. Of course those were equipped with powerful processors. When netbook was launched, there were not many options available. I did consider DV2, but I ended up with Mini 12 due to the lower price tag. I have a feeling that manufacturers are trying to keep 12" as a premium product, so I foresee the options are going to be lesser and lesser.

This saddens me, because I really love my Mini 9, but it also makes sense to me, because I realize that it's very much of a niche product for people who have a full sized laptop already. If I didn't already own a Lenvo X61 I'd probably have gone with a 10" netbook, too.

I like the Mini 9 for travel and web browsing around the house. The keyboard is a little cramped (and I have small hands). I haven't tried a Mini 10, that might solve the problem. But the bottomline is I have a nice OSX computer for the road.

I wish they would make the Mini 10 not suck, already. The 10v doesn't have the larger screen of the 10, and the 10 doesn't have the everything else of the 10V.
I may end up buying a HP - I just put together a nice unit for $400. We'll see if I have more than $0 when in school. ...

Received lowest quality mini 9 with 512 megs RAM, 4 GB SSD. Additions:
-2 GB RAM
-4 GB SSD [2 GB SD Card: getting 16 GB SDHC]
Sold for $180 so I could buy Mini 10, XP/Ubuntu, 160GB HD, 1GB RAM, 1366x768 screen, 6-cell for $260.
[Extra screen space IS AMAZING, as is having a working keyboard]

I have a 15 inch laptop which I hardly use now cos the Mini 9 is just more convenient to use.
