As posted on the Direct2Dell blog, Dell have given the official word that the Dell Mini 9 was discontinued as of last weekend. As reported by Lilliputing the halt in sales was always going to happen soon, but came prematurely due to "supply issues".

In their blog post, Dell praises the Mini 9 as a huge success, dubbing it as the "unofficial modders dream device", giving an obvious nod that they did recognise the huge modding potential the Mini 9 had.

As of 8:45 a.m. Pacific time, you still can add one to a cart for $220 with no configure-to-order options available, but ONLY if you link to it directly:

Dell : Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Laptop : : Home & Home Office

No telling whether Dell will fulfill any such orders, but anyone who wants a last chance at a new Mini 9 should give it a shot.

I see only six Mini 9s in the outlet now, too. Three of them are pink. I imagine there'll be occasional refurbs available through the outlet for a few more weeks.

Just glad I nabbed mine while they were still available.

What is the hard drive on the one for 220? it doesn't show it. has 1g and xp.

Yeah ... I was surprised to see almost three pages of them yesterday - including one with an ICE BLUE cover ... so tempting.

I opted for a Vostro A90 deal instead. Love the all black finish. Loved the price also. Can't wait to receive it!

FWIW: Just saw 'Previously Ordered New' A90's at Dell Outlet with same specs as the one linked to above for $249 free shipping handling and 1 yr. warranty...

Finally got no more info... apparently dell's "system" is screwed up, they couldn't find any more info on the mini 9 for 220. Keep a watch on this one.
