As pointed out by various forum members, the ONLY Dell Mini available at the moment on the Dell Website, on the Dell Mini section is the Dell Mini 10 and 10v.

Does this mean the end of the Dell Mini 9? Or is it just a temporary glitch in the matrix? If Dell decide to stop selling the Mini 9 on their site, the product will still be available through other sellers, such as mobile broadband providers, PC World and Vodafone to name a few.

The Dell Mini 9 was released mid September 2008, and has earned a reputation of being one of the cheapest and easiest hackintoshable netbooks out their. Since its appearance, Dell have also released the Mini 10 and the Mini 12, with the Mini 10 looking to be the new cornerstone of the Mini series.



Forum member nicke261192 has been on the phone with a Dell UK sales rep earlier today and had the following to report:

I have spoken to a Dell UK customer representative who says that they no longer stock the item
I asked her if there were any plans to launch a new mini and she said they do not yet know

The Dell Mini 9 has also been taken off the US website and the Germany Website and quite a few others
Also Currys Retailers in the UK no longer stock Mini 9's too on their online store however PC World still do... for now

Looks like this isn't a glitch, lets hope its good news and they introduce something else!

So it looks like the Dell Mini 9s product life is over already, after a mere 9 months on the market.

Hey just saw the post on the main page that the mini 9 is discontinued but I ordered one this afternoon off of the dell website. it was on sale for $20 off and also had $40 or $60 I don't remember off the ram upgrade to 2GB

Got mine delivered yesterday from dell outlet ( looks brand new ) £239 ( ish ) minus £55 discount plus VAT. Came to about £220 delivered.
16 gig 1g Black with 1.3 camera BT and Wifi.

Now they have only few listed lowest price is £311 - for same spec as mine, but £100 discount making £211 plus vat.

That leaked roadmap showed the Mini 10v was replacing the Mini 9, so this isn't a surprise to me.

Not a surprise to me either. Dunhamzzz in another post said "shortest lifetime ever!". Not. The Mini 9 has outlasted dozens of netbook models from Asus, HP and others. For all its charms, the 10.1" size seems to be the preferred sweet spot in the market today. The 10v is so very similar to the design of the 9 I can't see them coexisting.

The problem is for people who want to install OSX - I dont think the 10 does an OSX install (at least not as easily as the mini9 did) does it?

The Vostro A90 seems to still be for sale, though its for a PRICEY $294US.

Not so fast ... A few folks have started receiving them, and so far, installs of OS X are in progress. We should know more and have the skinny on Hackintoshing the 10v as the weekend progresses and definitely next week as the first batches continue to get delivered.
