Talking $55 for a base Mini 9 from Dell - 05-18-2009, 03:16 PM

The only catch is you must by a Inspiron E6500! I was luckly as I had to buy 10 new E6500's and a XT2 tablet, for work, when I saw this offer. When I obtained the quote I asked the Dell rep if I could order the Mini's on my credit card as I wanted 3 of them for my kids, she was ok with that, we could get up to 5 Mini's with this order, I asked my Boss if it was OK and he said it was as long as I order him 2 also.

You can customize them and add the camera and bigger SSD, they still start out as $55, but since we ordered 5 units they had to all be the same.

Black, 8Gb SSD, Blue Tooth, XP, no camera.

I can now add 2GB of RAM and a 32Gb SSD and still come out ahead!

I did a similar thing with my gf when she was buying a laptop. get a mini for $99 with studio 15 purchase. but i didnt come out on top becuase of the cost of the studio. she was looking to spend 850 but the final cost came out to about 1250 with mini9. so i paid 400 for the mini. great. at least she got a good deal on the studio but like she knows. :P

Wow!

That's a sweet deal

Wish I could have paid $55, but $199 wasn't bad considering

Aw ... I wonder if the XPS Studio I purchased within the past 2 weeks would persuade some salesman at DELL to cut me a similar deal on a Mini?

EDIT: The first DELL Schmagoolie I spoke to wasn't particularly motivated to find me a good deal like this - despite my having forked over the cash for the Studio XPS. (Perhaps she was salary). I'll be calling back customer service and try another angle later tonight. ;p Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I got two mini 9 in a row, one for me one for my GF. Got the 1st one at $256 (16gb, 1gb, etc..) with a 35% off coupon on this Dell coupons page and the second Dell mini I ordered the same day through my business account FREE found at the same spot but Dell small business with an optiplex server that I needed to buy anyway. All the same day
Dell will keep the prices low and push their mini's to every offer in my opnion for a few months.
Now I am waiting to see if there is going to have something for the Mini 10 and if we can use OSX on it. I love my mini 9, but the keyboard is really a deal breaker and the new dell mini 10 seems much better on this part.
