In my opinion Netbooks should be getting smaller in size and bigger in power. Making a physically bigger Netbook with less RAM power capabilities is going in the wrong direction. (Glad I got my Mini 9!)

It's actually lower resolution - fewer pixels vertically, same horizontally.
The standard model is lower resolution technically, but I think many people will want it for the 720p that will be coming. And I agree with matt, that they should be getting bigger in power rather than size, but not necessarily smaller. I actually think that the 9" is the perfect size if they would have the edge to edge keyboard (Which there is plenty of room for a larger keyboard) and a higher resolution screen that stretched more too the edges of the screen borders. Then it would be closer to 10", but the keyboard is my only complaint on the current ones. Pack a dual core in the mini 9, better keyboard and screen options, HDMI out, multi-touch pad, and I don't see the need for the mini 10. So if they'd stop wasting time on a mini 10 and improve what they already have and what customers want on the mini 9, they would be leagues ahead of everyone else. Oh and maybe for a Christmas present a touch screen that we don't need to add on ourselves

I'd like a better keyboard and more vertical pixels on the 9, and then it would be perfect.

At the AAFES web site, they give you the option to upgrade to the 1366x768 screen, add the TV tuner and upgrade the battery to a 56WHr. Still only 1GB of RAM. No hard drive upgrade. WWAN is an option. Hopefully these will be options thru the regular Dell web site on 2-26-09. Or could be typos here...I'll wait for 2-26-09 and compare before I purchase.

I purchased my Mini 9 from AAFES for $437.00 maxed out and shipped. They actually sent me two by mistake so the wife has the other one.

Engadget just reported Dell listing the Mini 10 for sale but I just checked and couldn't find it. They said the price was changing too from one minute to the next. Not sure whats going on with Dell today.

Ahh, Honestly I won't get Mini 10 or 12 netbook, because of non-upgradable RAM.. thats sucks! I would get asus 10inch netbook.

I hear you. The less RAM and lower resolution is frustrating. However, I think the one limiting factor on the netbook size is the keyboard. It looks like the Mini 10 is going to correct that issue and it is only time before we see the higher resolution display and the larger amount of RAM.
