Wow. End of an era.

It's weird, I still use my Mini 9 all the time and it's perfect for me as something to use to work and browse (and download), and watch or listen to stuff, on the go and at home. I guess there must not be enough people like me around who don't want a laptop (too bulky, expensive unless you get a low-end one) or tablet (can't work on it, too locked down).

Awww, I knew it was true already, but to see it in black and white. *sigh* Sad really. WHAT are they going to bring out next? Man I wish they'd reconsider this step....

Not unsurprising the reality is with the advent of netbooks being the low cost and very portable solution with normally very low power CPU's evolved the Ultrabook - with much faster CPU's and moderate GPU solutions with very thin stylish designs - led in some way by the Apple air - Myself I switched from the mini 9 for work onto an M11x around 2 years ago now and while I find the m11x a great devise originally planned to use it for work and play when travelling am unsure if I would buy another. Fins I really don't have time to actually game any more.

Everything evolves that's life but I still lie in bed with the mini 9 watching movies streamed from my server, so they still have a few years of use in them!!!

A sad day indeed. I picked up a 10v two years ago for OS X, and while I bricked my install a while ago, it was the best netbook I ever used.

...it IS lying right in front of me, I guess I could try fixing it :P

I did a search on te Inspron Duo on there site and it gave me that it's not longer available BUT I could go for the 11 inch (so still mini a like) Laptop. Dell Inspiron 11Z It just looks like a Dell Mini and the same price so I think it's a good deal

Dell Mini 10v - A04 - Intel Antom N270 - 1GB Ram - Intel GMA950 - Dell Wi-Fi 1397 - Snow Leopard 10.6.7 - Trackpad works great like sleep. Sound sometimes doesn't work when I boot

Just wanted to share this $100 off code on this 11z:

Dell Inspiron 11z Laptop for $400 - $100 code 5R6T7Z2SFFNNMV I used it and got a nice deal IMO on this netbook, and can't wait for it to come here. Not sure how much longer this code will be live though. But thought it was worth sharing.

In my opinion - the advantage the mini have over other netbook models is the fact that it is fanless (wich I have share in my "confession") - something neither the Inspiron 11z or the Duo is.

Hopefully there is going to be a new Mini-model when cedar trail arrives.

Yeah fanless and only 9 inches - that is why I like my mini 9. You could say 11" is not much different, but then neither is 13", and so on and so on... I don't want anything any bigger.
