I haven't been on this site for a long time as I sold my Mini some time ago. It sure was fun upgrading it and running several OS's on it. This site was always a great place to go for support and to learn how to push the Mini to the extreme.

Thank you all for the good times.

A sad day indeed. I was just reloading mine for the wife as a grand kid spilled OJ all over hers and its going to need some "care". I guess ebay is the besy place to get a 9 now. Its a shame really as I've been using mine fro work/play since I bought it. Since I still have a working Dell cpxi (circa 1997), I guess I can keep these two alive as long as parts are available. I hope they come up with something to replace it.... and not a tablet!!! Those of us that actually use the things for work really need a keyboard and mouse.

We're NOT DEAD YET! You can still get Dell mini's brand new through Sprint(3G/4G) and AT&T(3G only)!! Although AT&T appears to be out of stock....

Dell did the right thing with the Mini 9, it's a shame the latter models were so characterless and mainstream. Same thing happened with the Streak. No surprise the netbook market is dying tho, I haven't touched mined since I got my MBA,

Please do not send me support requests via PM.

Intel launched its "Cedar Trail" Atom processors today. Several manufacturers have said that they'll make netbooks with them, but Dell has said "no".

Just bought a brand new Mini 1012 as a replacement for a crashed HP Mini 10. On EBay for $249.99, wow, it's great, only missing the bluetooth card which I hope to add. So there are still a few new ones out there! Mine also has the WWAN slot for an AT&T sim card, which I have and use all the time when I travel. I should be okay for a while, but I am happy to hear of other people that really love this little gem!

Are they still producing new batteries for these? I see them on ebay, and on the dell site (expensive), but wonder how old the manufacture date is. My batteries seen a lot of charges on my mini 10 and I don't know how much longer it will last.

I just received today a new battery for my 10v, a third-party 6 cell battery. OS X seems to recognize the battery fine, and it's almost finished charging.

You might try Kahlon (Computer Memory, Laptop Batteries) . I've used them before. They are reliable and reasonable and they do show Mini batteries in stock.

Good luck!
