Home-made Froyo Build for the Dell Streak Released - 10-07-2010, 05:42 PM
Come on Dell developers! Just a few moments ago, avid Android Dev Stephen Hyde released a home-made Froyo build for the Dell Streak! The build has come out as a slightly-skinned almost-fully-working vanilla Froyo with all the trimmings.
Most things are working within the build (all Froyo features such as Flash, App2SD etc) but Steve has told us there is a problem with the radio, meaning all cellular stuff (including GPS it seems) does not work. Still, it's pretty awesome that we're this far and we've been informed that patches are in the works already!
You can download the Dell Streak Froyo ROM here, also includes installation instructions! Unfortunately it is not a handy update package but a few system images, so it will require some flashing and putting your Dell Streak in fastboot mode, which is not for the feint hearted.

If you have a bug with the most current build V1 of Stephen Hyde (DJ_Steve's) FroYo firmware visit the website below to report the bug. This will be a maintained list of reported bugs, confirmed bugs, and development (as far as fixed, not fixed, or scheduled to be fixed). Talked to Stephen about it already. This should help since the community is able to post into it. This same message will be cross-posted to mydellmini, modaco, xda-dev, and streaksmart. Feel free to cross-post to any board applicable. It is an open spreadsheet with revision tracking. Please don't pull any stunts as it will only hurt the community. I will be monitoring and updating as needed. This is the same way the jailbreak community tracks program dev for jailbroken phones and it works with great success.
IF YOU HAVE A BUG, EVEN IF REPORTED HERE ON THE BOARD, VISIT THE LINK BELOW TO REPORT IT
