I've had quite a bit of a play with it and I can say it's shaping up to be a very nice looking netbook. The hardware is mostly the same as the previous Dell Mini 1012 released earlier this year, but with the introduction of the N455 CPU means we now have DDR3 RAM support for a nice performance boost. Additionally, Dell have addressed some design issues with this new model; the trackpad now has separate buttons, no more awkward integrated ones! Also the uniform colour design makes the netbook seem a lot more smarter and professional. The unit I purchased cost £279 and took 7 days to arrive from ordering on the Dell UK site. No word on a US release yet. Here is my unboxing video: Check out the Mini 1018 pictures thread in our fresh Dell Mini 1018 forum for a photo-shoot. |
