It looks like Dell have now abolished over-hyped product announcements in place of leaks! This time it's in the form of a product roadmap, showing us the various Dell products coming out over the next year. Most of the tablets (Streak, Looking Glass) we should recognise, but there are a couple of new editions that are quite relevant to the Dell Mini community
The Dell "Sparta" and "Athens" new netbooks by Dell, estimated on this roadmap to be released sometime from July. The "Sparta" is described as a "netbook tablet", and from the image appears to have a rather unique design of a screen that rotates inside its bezel. The "Athens" is described as a "true netbook", that ways less than a kilogram - it loosk remarkably thin on the image. Notably, the roadmap says that both of these will be sporting an ARM processor, maybe Dell have ditched the Intel Atom series for future devices? It's really too early to tell at the moment.
Don't be put off by the "Q1 FY11", I assume this means financial year in business terms, so just read the months below and you can see things start to get exciting just from May - Jun 2010 onwards.
No official world from Dell about any of their upcoming tablets or netbooks, but it's certainly nice to know there's always something in the works.
