The new Dell Mini 1012 is officially out!

Starting at a modest $299, the Mini 1012 comes in 2 similar configurations, one with a 3-Cell battery and Windows XP and another ($329) with Windows 7 Starter and nice 6-Cell battery, which notably sits flush with the Minis design.

The official blog post mentions that we can see lots of new configurations in the near future, including Ubuntu as an OS and over 200 designs from the "Dell Design Studio".

I wish they'd show a good pic from the top with the lid closed. It's kinda looking like used a lid that's too small lol.

its too bad they went with VGA and not HDMI for video output, looks like a 10v with better audio capabilities to me...think I'll stick to my 1010, just wish I could find the damn daughter board..spent 2hours in chat today with Dell Tech Support and Dell Sales and both keep sending me back to the other..its crazy, someone must have this board....just cant figure out who...

Still waiting for its availability in Canada. This is the model I'm interested in getting, thank god for Christmas sellouts. I was soooo close to getting the N270. Too bad there's no HDMI in the 1012

Yes. I would have ordered one now except for that. I need HDMI in my next notebook, VGA is so 1985.

you can still get a 1010..at least that has HDMI, HD screen, TV capabilities..etc.and some have gotten OSX to work on the 1010 also..

There's 2 1010's in the Outlet right now with 2GB of RAM, 1 Cherry Red, 1 Black, at least a few hours ago there were.

Haa....he's not even done with the Mini9 or 10V! So the question is, is the hardware of the 1012 Mac compatible!?
