afaik, the download size was reported incorrectly? when i downloaded it from safari it stopped after 4.5gigs, and the image is definitely complete.

Dell has uploaded a compressed version to their site. It's only 302MB now.

Is there a MD5 file associated with the download somewhere?

Anyone try this on a Mini-10 (1010) yet?
I'm not expecting GMA500 graphics to work. I would try the vesa driver if available.
Anyone using the Broadcom 1397 b/g wifi card based on the 4312 chip? (This is what came with my Mini-10)

Chromium OS Builds by Hexxeh

Hexxeh from UK updated his ChromeOS build now with Broadcom WiFi support, no need to manually install wireless driver unlike the latest Dell version: http://linux.dell.com/files/cto/README.txt

Mini9 equipped with Dell Wireless 1490 Mini-PCIe is able to find and connect to 5GHz 802.11a network with WPA2 AES encryption using this build!

The fact that it takes the ChromeOS connection manager so damn long just to find the wireless network still really blows. Ended up letting it sit at the logon screen for 5min before attempting to log in which defeats the whole purpose of having an instant on OS! Hopefully google will fix this issue soon.

By default, Chrome also disconnects the wireless when you close the lid of the netbook but at least connection manager reconnects immediately when you reopen the lid...

This was asked by bigsmall2000, but I didn't see a response.

Would it be possible to instal this directly onto a partition to dual boot along with OSX?

I'm debating whether or not i actually WANT chrome OS on my 10v, especially when OSX, W7, and Ubuntu Netbook Remix are possible. just seems 'eh' to me.

If you want a glorified "browser" as your OS... then use Chrome.

I can do all of that, plus much more, running any other OS. (obviously since they are all web apps on Chrome OS)

Although, Google's "leaked" specs for their netbook look pretty decent, for what it will be running.
