I tried it too, after reading about it on Gizmodo, and was disappointed. Noticed that full screen HD did not stutter so much as play at a very low framerate.

(10.6.2 10v)

I've noticed that play controls on mine become almost unusable and have at least a 10 second lag when I try and pause a video or skip forward. Seems like the CPU usage in Firefox is so high that its causing it to lag while any video is playing.

Playback on sites like Blip.tv (which host ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com's videos) is much much much better. Before I would get a slideshow effect on higher quality videos, now they play smoothly.

Some sites give me a gray circle and some graphical glitches on the first load of the video player, but fixes itself after a refresh or two.

Video on Justin.tv is black for me now. I get audio and controls, but no video plays at all.

i can't believe that this is a front page story. First of all 10.1 GPU support is limited to windows for the time being. Second you have to have a GPU get support...last time I checked our Dell Minis don't have a GPU.

Err... so what's the GMA 500/950 then?

Please do not send me support requests via PM.

Default Thanks Jimbean! - 11-23-2009, 01:33 AM

Thanks Jimbean. Finding out your driver version was key. Everything plays now, except 1080p Youtube. Here are details and screenshots:

If you are willing to use some slightly older drivers (see the link in my post above), you can get smooth 720p Flash video acceleration right now.

I haven't seen any problems with the August 2009 drivers (7.14.10.2006) under Windows 7. Then again, I have "desktop composition" (Aero) turned off.

Im browse web regularly on a 1ghz Imac. I can barely play any streaming flash video when using safari 4. Safari 4 uses more CPU when browsing then Safari 3. I have downloaded 3 and can watch standard flash movies, but obv. no HD.

I'm confused. This is the Dell Mini forum. I don't think we can help you with your Imac problem, but if your video card supports hardware acceleration of H264 videos, you can download the beta version of Flashplayer 10.1 and see if it improves your performance. However, I've got a strong feeling that your Imac lacks this feature.
