Default Stantum touches up the Dell Mini 10 - 11-17-2009, 09:32 AM

Stantum (no idea either) have come up with a concept that completely transforms our good friend the Dell Mini 10 into a multi-touch slate PC. Looking much like a Mini 10 version of our own forum members mod (don't forget this original gem too), the Stantum multi-touch slate PC carries an extremely powerful touch screen with Windows 7 there to make full use of its features.

However, all this touch screen goodness does come at a cost. Other than not being able to recognise the unit as a Dell Mini 10, inside they have removed the webcam, a USB port and the bluetooth/wifi antennas, so it's likely you won't be able to connect to anything that isn't inside cable reach anyway.

View the Stantum Slate PC.

apparently it weighs 1,035 Kg! Mind you, with no wifi I suppose a wired connection would suffice, you're not going to be moving it around much.

I'll be heading over to one of their offices to check one out. If you have any questions you want to ask....

990 euros - ridiculous. How about a Wacom instead. Even the smaller one is something like 512 levels on pen sensitivity, not 256 or whatever this is. No thanks, I think I'll make my own.

"Same battery life as the original Mini 1010" that really can't be the case, they've taken out various hardware while also adding a touch screen, it may be better or even worse, but certainly not the same.
