Default Final Update: Dell Mini 10 TV Tuner - 07-03-2009, 12:39 AM

Just a quick update, regarding all Mini 10 TV Tuner early adopters, you should have recently recieved this email:

Thank you for your recent order for a Mini 10 Netbook (reference 24155562).

Unfortunately, your Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook shipped without the corresponding external TV antenna and adapter accessories.

To resolve this issue, Dell will dispatch the external TV antenna and adapter accessories to the shipping address that was on your original order. We expect them to arrive within the next x business days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,

Yes that's right, Dell are patching up their mistake and sending all Mini 10 TV Tuner owners the missing aerial. I just recieved word from an inside source too that this would be happening pronto. HOPEFULLY I shall be getting my external TV Tuner along with my replacement. Updates as they occur...

received this from dell after i was told 3-5 working days on 26th June

Dear Nathan Howell ,

Greetings from Dell !!

This is in regards to the email been sent to you regarding the external antenna which was missing from your order. We have got an update from our manufacturing unit , that as they are dispatching these parts to all the orders shipped without this part , they are experiencing some delay and it will be delivered to you by mid of july i.e. by 15 th July .

We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Default dell is pissing me off - 08-01-2009, 05:06 AM

After being told to wait 17-21 days from my invoice date to get the antenna, waiting 21 days and not getting an antenna, I emailed Dell again. I Got an e-mail today that said

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Care.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused by long delay in resolving your concern regarding the missing antenna.

I checked the details of the antenna that was to be sent to you, however, our records indicate that it is no longer available. Hence, we are unable to send it to you.

If you wish to return the system for refund, we can initiate a return request for full refund. We will also arrange for the return shipment.


This is absurd. The email doesn't make sense as they are still selling the mini 10 with the TV Tuner, so they have to have anntennae. I called customer service, and they are just giving me the run around. I love my Mini 10 and don't want to return it...I just want my antenae!!! Hey Bill from Dell....HELP!

Is this something that is available to All Mini10 owners...or just the ones that ordered them online from Dell's site?
