Question RunCore Customer Service - Does it exist? - 05-17-2009, 11:44 AM

Hello All,

Two months ago I bought a 64 GB SSD from RunCore for my Dell Mini 9. It worked flawlessly until two weeks ago when I turned on my mini and all I got was a black screen after the BIOS post and Dell initial screen. I then did the built in diagnostics and got the following:

Test Results : Fail
Error Code 0f00:0244
Msg: DSK_0 - Block 100270168-100270175 (8 block errors in all)

I sent RunCore a message 9 days ago via their support tab on their website. I received no response and sent another request for what to do 5 days ago... and nothing. I just sent another one in... but expect nothing.

I have not called them yet. Has anyone had similar problems with this company? If so, were you successful?

Thank you for any help... I really want... okay, feel that I need, my mini going again.

Did you try the retailer from whom you bought the drive?

I sent www-mydigitaldiscount-com a message two days ago and have not heard back yet either. I will send another request to them today to see if they can help.

Your SSD isn't completely dead if you're running those diagnostics from them, and most filesystems have a way to mark bad blocks. You may be able to continue using it if you can get the filesystem to recognize the bad blocks, but you may need to reinstall your operating system depending which blocks are corrupt.

(This doesn't mean you shouldn't complain about having a drive go bad so quickly...)

Got mine directly from MDD (64G) which died after a week

I emailed and did the requested RMA procedures, got an email back about the dead drive from Chris and shipped it to them overnight. Got the new replacement back within days and all has worked great since.

No complaints at all from their customer service here!
