ummm, for Mini 9 owners without WWAN slots or did I miss that disclaimer? They appear to be big enough to take up the WWAN Bay as well, which makes sense I suppose. Can we have some close ups of these new SSDs?

We've requested some more images from RunCore but we'll be sure to take a few photos of our own as well as soon as they arrive at our office.

I have to admit, a 128 GB SSD is damn tempting. The possibility of dual booting Mac & Windows 7 on nice, roomy partitions with a 3rd partition for music and movie files sounds pretty damn appealing.

I think its pretty awesome. This company went above and beyond to design and produce a 128 Gig SSD for the Mini-9 that did not require the owner to cut into the case. LOL unfortunately for me, Ive already installed the WWAN parts so it might be either a case cutting for the extended 128 Gig or be limited to the 64 Gig drive. Either way, It will take time to save up for it. I'm also still waiting on the SSD activity light with connector to be offered with the drives. No soldering on the drives means the warranty stays intact UNLESS. . . . MDD will forgive a little spot of solder or a burned card which I doubt they will.

Mini-9
STEC 8 gig SSD
RAM 2Gig 800Mhz.
WWAN parts in place
Fresh install of XP from OEM cd w/SP3
Gigabyte b,g & n WiFi card with drivers
Sony DVD ROM/CD burner in slimline external case
Planned upgrades; 64-128Gig Runcore, Bt, Black lid with WWAN antennas

I have the SuperTalent 64G double wide in one of my mini9's and the SDHC card reader installed in the WWAN slot on my other mini9. From what I can see the ST at least would fit, as long as there wasn't anything installed with just the header in place. So I'd guess the RunCore would fit also.

Just wondering what the schedule is for the RunCore 32GB Pro IV 50mm.

The site has said 2-3 weeks for almost a month now? Are they being shipped but there is a continuous 2-3 week backorder or are they just not coming in?

Thanks,

We apologize for the confusion. We've been told that the Pro IV SSDs are finishing production and that they are coming "soon" but we are still waiting for word from RunCore that they have shipped the drives. The 2-3 weeks notice will be updated as soon as we get a concrete shipping date, something we expect to have any day now.
