@niteboyzzz, I tried SL 10.6.3 on mini 10 and it will not boot due to kernel panic. For mini 10, You need to start with the 10.6.0 retail then upgrade to 10.6.1 and 10.6.2 as stated in the instructions. Hope this helps.

| My Mac Box Set just says 10.6, any way to tell which version beyond the 6? And, has anyone tried the latest OS updates on this?

I have used this forum to help me with a Mini 10V earlier this year and it works great. I got another Mini but it is the Mini 10 (1010) with A11 bios. Will this guide work on a 1010 with bios A11? Don't want to start this project and then have issues. Also, given the last post about the video not running right, is it worth it or is there a better way to do this now given 8 months have passed since this last post?

Here I post the problems I had during installation and how I fixed them... Hope it helps someone =) It was funny that after many tries I got it working... About the problem with the first script I either got it... What I Did was to format the usb drive using disk utility on Leopard 10.5 and make the image restore process there too.. after that copy update 10.6.1 & 10.6.2 (I don't know how but Snow Leopard was unable to make the restore process in less than 15 hours.. And sometimes after 12 hours it ends with an error... So I needed Leopard 10.5 for that process....) About the error with the first script like said here before on page 1 Leopard 10.5 did not support xattr -r that's why the script 01-prepare-install.sh show that: "Unable to mount volume disk1, please manually mount volume disk1" error... What I did was to just after the restore and copy process in Leopard 10.5 connect the usb on another Mac using Snow Leopard (10.6...)and run the 01-prepare-install.sh script there... the script complete successfully then when connecting the USB on dell mini 10 you'll see the same boot0 : GPT boot0 : testing boot0 : testing boot1 : (but after this the chameleon screen appears) You need to follow the instructions Exactly as the tutorial shown above after the installation of update 10.6.2 and running the third script (Phase 3 step's 2 & 3... My dell won't boot... It appeared the hibernate image to old by xxxx seconds) So you need to boot through the OSXInstall again and I don't know how, after a few try's it directly boot through MiniHD (you can either try: "Exit Snow leopard installation {on OSXInstall}then choose as your boot disk MiniHD and when booting again on chameleon choose OSXInstall again after a few tries you got on Snow Leopard on your dell again..) When you have been able successfully to login again install the RTGMac_v2.0.3 driver proccess. DO NOT REBOOT... Then open terminal and type: "sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0; sudo pmset -g (To verify)... Then to avoid having a kernel panic when rebooting; sudo rm -r SleepEnabler.kext (If you don't have that file terminal will show up an error don't worry is just to verify... (Then to fix hibernate image to old by xxx seconds type); cd /usr/var/; ls -al; (To see what files you have inside there).... (If sleepimage present)... sudo bash; (after entering password)... sudo rm sleepimage; DO NOT CLOSE TERMINAL... When done... DO NOT REBOOT... then return and follow the second step 2 (the 2 after the code) on phase 3... Download mach_kernel10.2.0... Download zip to Desktop Unzip by double click Go back to terminal and type: sudo -s ; cd / ; mv mach_kernel mach_kernel_1062 ; cp ~/Desktop/mach_kernel / ; chown 0:0 mach_kernel ; NOW REBOOT. You should be done and now have a Snow Leopard Inspiron-Mini MacBook with all features working... If not you have missed some step, or you can try reinstalling chameleon again (Phase 2 step 8) I currently have my Inspiron Mini 10 (160 GB HD) (2 GB ram) With Snow Leopard and Ubuntu 10.4 (100 GB fat 32 partition for files storage) booting with chameleon and windows 98,XP running like virtual machines.. Feel free to ask!!! PS: Disable Updates on MAC OS-X at preferences in dock.

Wow! Needed the Russian Kernel, but everything else worked like a charm! Glad I found this post, thanks to all. OSX is running much better on my Mini 10 than XP ever did. Glad to remove that bloat from this machine. HACKINTOSH! Anyone need help, just let me know...

Hi all, I got a Mini 10 one year ago, and this post looks interesting. I don't have a Mac or macbook, and no way I can get one (almost nobody use Mac in our country). So the question: is it possible to run Mac OS X on Virtualbox/Virtual PC on Windows Xp( or 7)?? For the USB preparations, of course.
