Default Some questions about hackintoshs... - 01-04-2011, 12:03 AM

Is it possible that someday we get the little welcome sound on our hackintosh?

And I was wondering if we ever be able to get 3 fingers gestures on Dell Mini 10v?

And last but not least why the Card Reader doesn't shows up in the System Profiler, though it works!

Dell Mini 10v||Bios A06||1GB RAM||160 GB HDD ||Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz||Mac OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard||NetbookInstaller 8.4 RC1 Updated for 10.6.4|| Windows 7 Ultimate || MacBook Air SMBios.plist
PowerBook 12"||G4 1.33 GHz||1.25 GB RAM||160 GB HDD||Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard

It's doubtful we'll ever get a "Welcome chime" for our computers as this is an EFI POST thing and my understanding is that it would be quite hard to develop. Perhaps some sort of software after the BIOS could simulate said process, but I'm skeptical of that.

Again, doubtful on three finger gestures. It might be achievable, but just like two finger scrolling, it will only be "simulated", since the 10v trackpad isn't actually multi-touch.

The card reader shows up in System Profiler under, "USB" as "USB2.0 CRW".

Thank you for the i formative reply , well too bad for thw "welcome chime". As for the trackpad is weird because under Win 7 3 fingers and fingers gestures works great. Well thank you anyway!

And this is just my understanding, so I could be wrong. And in a way, I hope I am. :P

Actually most synaptics touchpads have been multitouch from a hardware perspective for years, but the drivers have been lagging behind. Meklort used to have a separate touchpad driver on here that supported gestures, if you look around you might still be able to find it.
