Hi.

I've posted elsewhere my problems with the Still waiting for Boot Device error. The key seems to be Safe Mode. It won't boot normally (It gets stuck on the grey boot screen) but will boot in safe mode. Running NBI in safe mode fixes the boot error, but inevitably - due to various things that are/aren't loaded - loses audio and probably other stuff too. Running NBI again in normal mode re-creates the boot error - it's a perpetual cycle.

I want to find out what those things are.

Can someone please tell me what safe mode does? Can someone list for me, what is and isn't loaded, and probably specifically kext-wise... Which extensions are and aren't loaded when the "-x" flag is entered?
