This isn't a netbook breaking attempt- its just a bug from Apple's end that is happening to many OSX systems right now with system ID's longer than 12 characters. I have a brief acquaintance who is one of the lead Adobe developers and I know their team is working on this right now as we speak. They were as befuddled by this as we were.
Give them time- I'm sure they'll figure out a workaround... this is effecting a greater pool of users than just OSX netbook users, so they have a vested interest to get this fixed. To play it safe I'm not running the 10.6.3 update on either my netbook or my Mac Pro- both have fewer than 12 characters as their system ID so I'd probably be fine to run the update, but I'm playing it safe.
If you've got a clone copy of your machine I'd suggest rolling it back to that update so you can still use your CS3 suite until a fix comes out. 10.6.3 doesn't appear to be a ground-breaking update, but I understand the desire to stay current on updates.
Keep an eye on this link from Adobe to stay abreast with this situation: Adobe CS3 applications crash at launch on Mac OS 10.6.3 if system serial number is greater than 12 characters
Best of luck!

Only time will tell, each day without a fix is one day closer to no fix ever...
I do not really care, I have CS3 running fine on my real computer, but it did run fine on my Dell Mini 10v also, up until 10.6.3....
Honestly sounds like 10.6.3 is going to, slowly but surely, be a big issue for hackintosh netties.
As I skim the postings on this forum, there seems to be more and more people with issues after they updated to 10.6.3.
Honestly, I am bowing out of the netbook os X thing, as I have just bought an iPad, and I am selling my Dell Mini 10v on ebay to fund part of that purchase.
I have a few real computers for real work and the dell netty was a fun experiment, but for what it is, the iPad has rocketed me into the future, I cannot see going back to the netbook for the simple stuff, and content consumption.
hopefully it all works out for the mydellmini community, but If I was keeping the Dell Mini 10v I would stay put at 10.6.2 and NBI .8.3....at least right now
