Default I have gotten an error - 02-10-2010, 03:05 AM

After I typed this command:

ssb-sprom -i ssb_sprom_copy –-subv 0×106b –-subp 0×0087 -o new_ssb_sprom_copy

I get an error that tells me:

The input file is data from a revision 8 SPROM.

What do i have to alter to get the card to flash appropriately? BTW, I have the dell 1510 card. Thanks in advance.

That's not an error, just a notification. Continue entering the commands after you see that.

Not sure if it really matters or not, but the subproduct code I used when I flashed my 1510 card was 0x008b.

It looks as if you are nearly there now anyway, which is good!

Just did my 1510 with the same subproduct code and everything worked fine. I now have an Airport Extreme

Hi tutorial, and welcome to the forum!

I didn't actually use this version myself, but I can't see why it wouldn't.

Don't forget to type all the commands in 'manually' though, as 'copy and paste' won't work on the majority of them... and it's a good idea also to type sudo -s as your very first line in the Terminal to ensure you are working as 'root'.

One thing I noticed before I flashed my 1510 card was that the Country Code was blank, but when I checked the settings in Snow Leopard it was showing as US.

It probably doesn't really matter at all, but I do like these sort of things to be right, so I ran through the procedure again, and with a slight modification to the appropriate line I inserted "GB", which is what it now shows in SL!
