No problems for me in Windows 7. Just had to remove the old Dell 1510 drivers so I could rename the Wireless Network Connection, but that's just more of a clean-freak thing. No performance issues. Not sure about Linux.

It feels like my battery lasts a teeny bit longer in OS X. Might just be in my head though, as stated before.

Not sure about Ubuntu (although I cannot see why not), but the flashed card will be recognised by Windows 7, but as a Broadcom card, rather than a Dell one!

It will automatically install some new drivers, and of course you will have to enter your Network Key again.

If you then want to 'tidy things up' a bit, an earlier post by Side.Step.Society contains some useful tips.

Edit: Sorry, I had already posted this before I read the previous one!

Default Just Confirming that it works with Mini 9 and 10.6.2 - 02-08-2010, 04:54 AM

Works just fine on my Mini 9 with 10.6.2 installed.

I ran a ad hoc speed test between my mini and my wifi router both before and after flashing the wifi card by copying a 2gb file from mini to the NAS
and back 3 times and averaging the time. The newly flashed wifi card was 11.2% faster. Don't know how accurate that is, but it does seem to confirm my feeling that the connection is quicker.

Not yet, I am afraid to say!

I had hoped to be able to spend some more time on it yesterday, but a few other things got in the way!

However my two USB 'sticks' are all prepared and ready, so the next step is to back up my Windows 7 files and drivers... just in case it doesn't work out, and then to take the plunge, as it were!

Then I will probably want to spend some time finding my way around etc, as it will be my first Mac experience!

Good to see it is working for a lot of people, and benefiting them!

I have Dell Mini 9 with a BCM 4312 Rev 01 wifi card and the procedure worked perfectly for me. Card now seen as an Airport Extreme. Just finished the procedure so I can't speak to any of the performance or battery improvements.
