Default 12'' Netbook with RC5 - 12-22-2009, 03:51 AM

Is there a 12'' netbook that will work as well and as compatibly as my mini10v?

Thanks!

To expand on that, this is specifically a limitation of the graphics being used in current 12" offerings. Sorry

Yeah, I was kind of brief there. Let me add some more detail: You could probably install Mac OS X on something like a Dell Mini 12 (discontinued) similar to the way some are doing it on the Dell Mini 10 (1010, not the 1011 or 10v as you call it) but it will be no where near as compatible as the 10v is. Graphics are the big killer, but the other parts of the hardware (audio, wireless, ethernet, etc.) probably won't work too well. I know of no 12 inch laptop that is comparable to the 10v.

The Lenovo S12 (with or without ION) should work out. Wifi might be a problem but from everything I've read they work pretty well

Default ASUS 1201n - 12-22-2009, 03:56 PM

The HP 311 mini with ION graphics has been rather successfully OSX'ed (see Insanely Mac: HP Mini 311 Darwin Project Thread (Part II - CURRENT) - InsanelyMac Forum).

I have an ASUS 1201n coming in today. As the 1201n just became available, there's no info yet as to its "hackability", but it shouldn't take long. Its 12" screen, Atom 330 processor, and ION graphics processor should make it the ultimate "netbook" for the moment. The other EeePC's have been rather successful running OSX, so hopefully the 1201n will be as well. And, working on this should be great learning experience.

Thanks!
I ran OS X 10.5 on an Lenovo X60 a while back, everything worked except for the onboard wireless. I was able to use a pcmcia wireless card and it worked okay until it downloaded an airport update that broke the wireless and I never had time to fix it. (Its now a digital photo frame running ubuntu)
