What do I need to install to enable speedstepping then? Or should it be enabled by default? I have osx 10.6.2 and nbi 0.8.4 rc1 installed.

For me it was enabled. I watch it with CPU-i

Had a look with cpu-i and cant see it stepping down thats all. Did you previously have voodoopowermini installed before?

Yes I did. But I did a clean rebuild recently so system hasn't ever seen VoodooPowerMini.

Hmmmm strange wonder why mine isnt stepping like that then

Sorry it was cpu-x I was watching it with. I tried cpu-i and it comes up with an error saying "cant find matching service. Please check CPUi.kext is properly installed and loaded"

I'm guessing speed stepping isnt working either way on my 10v

I'd be more worried that you've go some issue with you're /Extra kexts in general.

I'm having issues with this too.. it looks like the "Model Name" of the mac is set to "Mac" instead of "MacBook4,1" which is what it should be (to mimic the macbook air).

I'm not sure how to change this.

From brief searches, I've found stuff relating to SMBIOS and com.apple.Boot.plist,

although immediate clue on how to modify them to alter the name of the Model Name.


The Model Name is what the speed stepping uses.
