Now, reydemia, read your tutorial, but I do not want to make a fresh install, so what would be the alternative?
Before you start, be sure you delete any traces of voodoo audio related devices on your system!

Then simply download and run the "DellEFI for 10v" app and run it with these settings checked: install bootloader, install extensions, install old GMA kext. reboot and everything should be just fine and dandy!

...if not, run it once more except only check delete dsdt.aml file. Reboot, then run it again checking these settings:install bootloader, install extensions, generate dsdt.aml file, install old GMA kext. then reboot again.

so please try that and tell me your results

I need a small favor. I need vanilla AppleHDA and IOFamily from 10.5.8, I'd appreciate it.

well, the wonderful minds that come up with this stuff are truly amazing... but the REAL hero will be the guy that makes the simple installer for those of us who dont know how to do the code rewriting. i would love to get the sound fixed on my 10v, but the greek instructions are thick with what i dont know... pretty intimidating for those of us not well versed in the science of rebuilding dsdt's.

Tried this method. Followed all of the instructions, I think. Got shaky results, at best. Audio stopped working after sleep and I never got the internal mic to work. I had to restart the computer to reload the driver to get it back. About every third or fourth time I would have to dump the audio kexts from the extensions folder and reload them to get sound back and even sometimes that didn't work. I would have to change to a different sound kext scheme altogether to get sound back at all. I finally had to give up and go back to the VodoHDA.kext to get consistent sound.

I have always had all of that on my Mini 10v without any of your fancy steps. The only thing I am looking for that my Mini 9 has always had is the working internal microphone. It is a little cumbersome to always have to carry around extra equipment that is duplicating what is already in my computer, especially when my only USB microphone is a Blue Snowball (not the easiest thing to carry around with you everywhere).

So basically I had my 10v working great with 2 exceptions... the Mic didnt work, and i was still on 10.5.7. After reading all of these comments about the mic working, i started to give it a go to see what I could do... First updated to 10.5.8 and then followed the instructions on here about removeing and installing the extenstion files. The first boot everything was working! even the mic... but... hold on I have one issue...

When my 10v goes to sleep... i open the lid to wake it up and nothing... the screen is black... the 'breathing' led does go solid, but i cant get any response...

any ideas!

cant believe my mic is working!

Have you disabled USB Legacy Support in the Dell Bios?

Sorry if I ask a stupid question but I have a Dell mini 10v and there is no Volumes/EFI directory on my system and there is no other partition that can be mounted. Here are my questions.

Where do I unpack those files ?
Where is the dsdt files to change ?
Then Ho to I rebuild it ? (with DellEFI ?)

thanks
