No problem. Your effort is greatly appreciated, and I still consider the audio driver a home run!

Let me know if you have anything else you'd like me to try.

Nick, would you replace LegacyAppleHDA.kext with the newer one in this post?

I used kexthelper to install the new legacyAppleHDA kext. Same thing, no mute on headphones.

I did not delete the old LegacyAppleHDA kext that was installed. I assumed that kexthelper would overwrite it with the new version.

I;m going to suggest that you remove IOAudioFamily.kext from /Extra as verbHelper replaces it's functionality and might be causing a conflict.

I don't see IOAudioFamily.kext in my Extra folder, would it be anywhere else?

It's either in /Extra/Mini9Ext /Extra/Mini10vExt or it was installed over the version included by Apple in /System/Library/Extensions. You'll have to replace it in that case w/ the correct version.

Ok, the only one I see is located in System/Library/Extensions.

What do you mean by replacing it with the correct version? Do you mean a version of the kext from a real mac install?

I mean the version included with whatever version of OS X you are running, so if you are on 10.5.7, then replace it with that one.

OK, these last updates have fixed all of my problems!! In particular, the new LegacyHDA kext and the IOAudioFamily (stock is uploaded) patch have fixed my problems. For anyone who wants to try what I've done, here are the steps for anyone who wants to try this the way I did:

1. Remove VoodooHDA.kext, AppleHDA.kext, and IOAudioFamily.kext from /Extra/Mini9Ext and/or /System/Library/Extensions/
2. Patch the DSDT with new audio settings (see post 75)
3. Get the kexts: VerbHelper from post 1, my AppleHDA from post 16, the latest LegacyAppleHDA from post 102, and IOAudioFamily from this post.
4. Use kext helper to install all of these (into S/L/E)
5. Reboot. Enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread; these new audio drivers have been a huge success!!

found a appleHDA in /extra/mini10vext/. removed it and used the "update extra" to regenerate the Extensions.ktext in the /extra folder. Reboot.

After this no sound device is listed, even after I drop the four ktext files attached here into /system/libraries/extensions/ folder. In short, while the appleHDA was cleared, the new ktext files for some reason just wouldn't register.

Do I need to do something to make them valid? Again this is the NetbookInstall 0.8.1alpha packages that I'm using. Thanks for any help/tips.
