Default A liitle more time to choose - 07-07-2010, 03:53 AM

I have had my 1012 since 1 Jul and I am really liking it. I have installed Jolicould and am enjoying it.

However, is there anything I can do to give me more to choose between Jolicloud and Windows 7. As a Ham Radio operator I must still live in the Windows world with several programs. It seems that Jolicloud is very eager to get going and I sometimes do not get to change it fast enough.

So is there a way to give me more time or default to windows or both.

Thanks,

Michael

The bootmanagers Chameleon and Grub allow to set a waiting time and a default boot.

GRUB is the bootloader commonly used with Linux. Here seem to be instructions for changing GRUB's timeout in Jolicloud.

Be aware that some distros, like Ubuntu, use a newer version of GRUB, which would need to be reconfigured differently.

Thanks for info, went to the link and have made the changes. I must admit that I do miss the command line. Windows, MAC, and Linux is nice but sometimes it is just nice to have a command line.

I came the other way, and increasingly enjoy the feeling of geeky power that only a clui can give (and have learned the importance of full backups...)
